A story from the Home

We have sooo many memories it is hard for me to write them, also they may not seem "normal" to others!

Two summers ago, I had almost my entire family (5 of my 6 siblings, their spouses, their kids and my parents) out to the house-there. I am from the Chicago area originally and that is where all my family still lives. Many of them had never been to Vermont before. We had a fabulous week of cook outs, golf, card playing and laughing until tears streamed down our faces.

Not to mention a few glasses of wine and beer!

The beauty is there are no cable TV, Electronic Games and no reason to leave......so you really can and do sit around and really talk to each other!

Webmaster's note; It seems pretty normal and wonderful to us.

From the co-owners

"Although many wonderful memories have been already made at our house in Vermont with Family and Friends with many more to come, I would have to say one of my most favorites memories is last Thanksgiving.

My husband Mark and I invited our mothers, our siblings and their families to spend the Thanksgiving weekend in Vermont. We had eight adults, and ten kids for the long weekend. We started Thanksgiving Day by Frying a Turkey outside, and everyone gathered around the turkey fryer with cocktails anxiously awaiting the unique turkey experience.

We set two tables together and extended the festive table into the living room and enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for eighteen people. Throughout the weekend, the cousins all played together outside and took long hikes in the woods, and explored the stream on our property. We also took a hike to the top of Okemo, and generally just enjoyed each others company.

One of our favorite things to do at the end of a weekend is to have everyone memoralize the weekend in our guest book. It is hilarious to go back and read the entries. That in it self brings back great memories. "

And if they would get around to telling us some of the so called, "Love ShacK" stories, this column would be a much more interesting read.
