Dear Folks,

Here's an alternative to your usual vacation escape..

It's a wonderful lake, in the middle of Vermont's verdant Mountains.  A place of peace and tranquility, of great sounds and pastoral vistas.

Instead of the same old over-run summer resort, why don't you drive yourself sane this year.  It's all within a convenient drive.  And we know all the good spots, restaurants, spas, fishing holes, golf courses, horse stables, hiking trails, bike shops, auctions and antiques.

And in the center of it all is Pike's Peaks, Your Mountain Home .  It's all an email, or a phone call, away.

Oh, and this year,  think about having a Family or College friend Reunion…  we can handle group getaways of over 50 people with all the amenities of Pike’s Peaks….

There’s always a great reason to get the crew together up in the hills, and when it costs less that $50/per person for the week, there is no reason not to do it right now!

Our web site Now comes with Video.   Just click on the photo of the lady and the dog!  And pick Video 1 or 2, and escape just for a minute.

That was pretty cool!

And while you are pondering think, about some Vermont ’s popular walks and hikes.

The Healdville Trail is reached from a parking area located just off Rt. 103, 2 miles north of Ludlow. Turn west off Rt. 103 at Wright Construction and follow to the trailhead.

You will end up at the very top of Okemo Mountain.

Long and Appalachian Trails

The trails both cross through our region with access points off Rt. 140 and Rt. 103.  Both extended and day trip possibilities. A copy of the appropriate guidebook can be obtained at country stores near the trails.

Plenty More to Do in Vermont

Horseback Riding

Hawk Inn & Mountain Resort  - Route 100 North, Plymouth - Phone: 802-672-3811

Cavendish Trail Horse Rides  - Twenty Mile Stream Road, Cavendish - Phone 802-226-7821

Camp Plymouth State Park on Lake Rescue

Lake Rescue and Echo Lake are a 5-minute drive, where you can boat, swim and fish.  Camp Plymouth State Park at Lake Rescue has a large beach with swimming area, picnicking and barbeque facilities, concession stand, walking trails and boat rentals.

Golf at Okemo Valley Golf Course - Vermont 's first heathland links course.

That's the Okemo Valley golf course.. one minute from Pike's Peaks ! The New Gold Standard in Green Mountain Golf featuring bent grass greens, tees and fairways, our par 70, 18-hole championship course is Vermont's first heathland-style course and is unlike any other course in New England.

The fairways are wide and filled with dips, ripples, rolls and hollows, conditions that characterize many Scottish links courses. The
Okemo Valley landscape is open and receptive to ever-present mountain breezes.

Each hole offers wonderful views of
Vermont's Green Mountains without the blind shots and exhausting terrain often found on a typical mountain course. And Okemo Valley's greens are sweeping and fairly-sculpted to reward short-game specialists.

Antiquing

That's Kit Martin of Townshend auction galleries selling another treasure!  Many of the furnishings at Pike's Peaks come from his operation.  We have listed some of the antique auction houses within an hour’s country drive of Pike’s Peaks.  The owner is a real fan of these places and has furnished Pike’s Peaks properties almost entirely by going to these auctions.  We have provided information about URL or email sign up links to these sites.  For those of you who love sitting around at a good country auction, we highly recommend that you get on their mailing list and come stay at Pike’s Peaks for an antiquing adventure.  This is true all 12 months of the year.
